Portrait Cookies

I’ve always loved having my picture taken and taking photos of family and friends. It wasn’t until recently I realized that you could take it a step further with portrait cookies.
I found this fantastic site where you can send custom pictures in to their headquarters and have hand piped and iced cookies sent to you.
These cookies look so great! I’ve never seen any other cookies look so realistic.
In addition to portrait cookies, this site also does photo cookies (like an exact scan) and logo cookies. Although, I haven’t ordered any of these cookies yet they look so amazing and lifelike! I’ll be sure to bookmark this site and come back when a special occasion comes up!
Here, why don’t you check out these delicious handmade cookies too. The site is called Rolling Pin Productions and the link is directly associated with portrait cookies. You can even order cookies for yourself right from the site on the Order Page.
While, yes, I could bake my own cookies and carefully ice them, trembling as I try my best to copy the exact image of a picture or logo.
With my best guess, they wouldn’t be half as good as these so I think I’ll stick with the professionals. Still… I have to say my sugar cookies would probably taste just as good as these fancy portrait cookies!
Popcorn Cupcake Recipe

Movie nights, for me, are the perfect way to spend any evening, but where would a movie be with no popcorn? Well, it would just be wrong. That’s what makes these cupcakes so much fun. I found them at familyfun.com and I just love the idea. This recipe allows you to create creative little popcorn cupcakes and gives off the image of a bucket of popcorn.
I’ve found that these cupcakes are great for parties, gatherings, or a fun girl’s night in! Who would have ever thought that marshmallows could be popcorn! So go ahead, pop in a movie, pop down on the couch, and don’t worry about popping that popcorn. These popcorn cupcakes already have it all taken care of!
Ingredients:
- Premade cupcakes
- White icing
- Mini marshmallows (white or pastel yellow and white)
- Yellow food coloring (optional)
- Clean paintbrush
- Scissors
- White construction paper
- Blue and red markers
Directions:
1) Frost the cupcake with white icing. To create each piece of “popcorn,” cut one mini marshmallow in half and squish the two pieces back together into a whole mini marshmallow, pinching firmly.
2) Pile the finished popcorn onto the frosted cupcake. For a buttery look, either dilute a drop of yellow food coloring in water and brush it on with a clean paintbrush or mix pastel yellow marshmallows in with the white.
3) To make the band, cut a strip of construction paper about 1 1/4 inches by 8 inches, or to fit your cupcake, and decorate as shown. If you’re creating many cupcakes, design just one band and color photocopy it. Wrap the band around the cupcake and secure with tape.
Well, that’s it. With these simple instructions and a little creativity, you too can enjoy a popcorn cupcake to accompany any movie night! This popcorn cupcake recipe is a fun twist on a traditionally salty snack!
Golf Cupcake Design Recipe

This cupcake cake design may make you think you’re not up to par, but really its a simple design with a look that’s complex.
With so many more golfers out on the course now-a-days, golf inspired things have become increasingly popular; from backyards, to houses, to even food!!
This little cupcake, designed to resemble a golfing green will make you wish you were on the course right now! This simple cupcake design only needs a few things.
Ingredients:
- Pre-made chocolate cupcakes
- Bright Green Frosting
- Golf Ball Mints (found in specialty baking shops or sport stores) *can also be substituted for Mentos or any other small white sphere candy
- Toothpicks
- Red Fruit Leather (or Fruit Roll-Ups)
- Hair decorating tip
- Pastry Bag
Directions:
1) Take your pastry bag, with the hair decorating tip, and put your green frosting in it, filling it up about of the way.
2) Gently squeeze the pastry bag over the edge of the cupcake until about 1/6 inch of frosting has come onto the cupcake. Continue that process around the entire cupcake, creating the illusion of flowing grass.
3) Place your golf ball, whatever you chose to use to resemble the golf ball, onto the cupcake.
4) Cut the red fruit leather or Fruit Roll-up into an isosceles triangle for the golfers flag. Poke two holes in the triangle on the shortest side. Weave the toothpick into the leather (roll-up) and stick the flag into the cupcake.
And there you have it! Your golfer’s paradise is complete! It’s finished with grass, ball, and flag; what more could you ask for? This cupcake cake design has proven to be not only a snap but it looks like you’ve been working in the kitchen all day to make these little greens! People will be shocked by your creative cupcake cake design and they’ll think these cupcakes were surely store bought! But everyone knows that they’re much too divine for that go ahead and enjoy the little cakes!
