The perfect chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe can sometimes be hard to come by but my recipe follows the tips discussed in How To Make Chocolate Chip Cookies just the way you want them.

When a recipe follows my tips to make a chewy cookie well, then thats exactly what youll get. So if you love your grandma’s favorite chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe, then I bet that you will like my recipe too. This recipe will help to give you a chewy and soft cookie, packed with chocolate chips!

You may have tried other recipes like this chewy chocolate chip recipe before, but by understanding and following the science behind the cookies, you will be shocked by just how soft and chewy these little bites of heaven are! So, my friends, get baking!

Yield: 2.5 dozen

Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter

2 cups bread flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar

1 egg

1 egg yolk

2 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

1) Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees.

2) Melt the butter in a medium saucepan on low heat. Sift the flour, salt, and baking soda in a medium bowl and then set it aside. Pour the melted butter into a large mixing bowl. Add the sugar and the brown sugar. Blend the butter and sugar on medium speed until creamy. Add the egg, the egg yolk, milk and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined. Add the flour slowly into the mixture and mix well.

3) Fold in the chocolate chips and then chill the dough until it is cool. Bake the cookies for 14 minutes, or until golden brown, then enjoy!

These cookies are fantastic! This is such a simple recipe and yet so yummy!

I made these for a bake-sale and they turned out very well. They were so chewy and soft that people thought they were store bought until I told them about the recipe. Needless to say, my cookies were the hit of the bake-sale and were completely sold out several hours before the end of the sale.

This chocolate chip cookie recipe is great for any occasion and delivers a soft and chewy result that will have even you wondering how you did it! Happy baking!

In the mid 1930s a woman by the name of Ruth Wakefield accidentally stumbled upon Americas favorite cookie and so began the history of the chocolate chip cookie.

The chocolate chip cookie was originally discovered when Mrs. Wakefield substituted her usual melted bakers chocolate for Nestlse semisweet chocolate bar. When the bar didn’t melt completely it left little bits of chocolate, known today as chocolate chips, in the cookies.

The recipe became so popular and the cookies so delicious that Ruth began posting her recipe in newspapers and even sparked up a deal with Andrew Nestle himself; a lifetime supply of chocolate bars for Ruth if Nestl could put her recipe on their chocolate packaging, which is still on their package today!

Following Nestls new packaging plan with Ruths recipe, Nestle also began packaging their famous chocolate bars with a little chopper. People around the nation were beginning to hear about the popular cookies and they soon wanted to make the cookies in their own home. With the new chopper, they too could follow the directions of Mrs. Wakefield and make their own chocolate chip cookie!

In 1939, a major step in the history of the chocolate chip cookie occurred. Nestle came out with little chocolate morsels made specifically for chocolate chip cookies to replace the bar of chocolate with the chopper idea. The chocolate chip cookie soon became the most popular cookie in America and today we consume nearly seven billion a year, thirty-three thousand of those are made by Toll House each day!

As for the Toll House Inn it was sold by Ruth as the years passed and the family who bought it tried to turn the homey Inn into a wild nightclub. Needless to say, that didnt really work.

After the failure of the club, the Inn was bought by another family who returned in back to its original glory. Despite the storied history at the Inn, in 1984, it burnt down on News Year Eve.

Thanks to Ruth Wakefield, the chocolate chip cookie was born and so she earned a place in our hearts. The history of the chocolate chip cookie is such a delightful piece of Americana doesnt it make you want to bake up a batch of cookies right now!

These adorable cookie monster cupcakes capture the lovable Sesame Street sweets lover at his most vulnerable hour—with a cookie right in his mouth!

These creative cupcakes are great for a child’s birthday or other special occasion. I especially like these cookie monster Sesame Street cupcakes because I used to love Cookie Monster.

Nowadays, there is talk of Cookie Monster eating healthy and such monstrosities like that, so it’s good to see that Cookie Monster still likes to enjoy an enormous cookie every now and then. But then again, don’t we all?

Ingredients:

Premade Cupcakes

Blue Sprinkles

White Royal Icing

Miniature Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chips or Black Icing

Directions:

1) Frost your cupcakes with your white icing. If you want Cookie Monster to look “extra” blue, tint some of the white frosting with blue food coloring. Be sure to keep the frosting as smooth as you can.

2) Grab a handful of blue sprinkles and lightly press them to the cupcake, being sure to cover all portions where icing is visible.

3) For the eyes, take a dollop of white icing and place them in the appropriate places. For pupils, you can use many different techniques. I’ve found that just a tiny dot of black icing works well, but feel free to use chocolate chips, raisins, etc. in order to give Cookie Monster some depth and personality. Have fun!

4) As a finishing touch, cut a small chocolate chip cookie into halves and press a half into the spot on the cupcake when a mouth would usually be. If you find the cookies too hard to cut, just shove the whole cookie into the cupcake. After all, that’s how Cookie Monster would do it!

After your Sesame Street cupcakes are complete, there is not much left to do, but enjoy. The only problem is, with Cookie Monster looking so cute, it may be hard to bite into the little guy, but you’re just going to have to try your best because he sure is tasty!
